What is the Employee Aptitude Test and how does it help me in hiring?

The Employee Aptitude Test developed in consultation with leading human resource professionals will help you determine which potential hires are likely to succeed as machine operators BEFORE you hire and train them. Even if you are only hiring laborers or helpers, this test can be used to measure the applicant’s promotion potential, thereby reducing turnover and the costs of bad hires and increasing productivity and bottom-line performance.

This 60-minute written test, given by you to the job applicant during the initial interview, measures mental abilities, motivation/interests and personality characteristics. The results are compared against those of top operators and a profile of the applicant is provided to you.

I’ve never used formal tests before; is this complicated?
You are provided with instructions on how to administer the test, the test itself and the answer form. All you need is a quiet room to test the applicant and a watch to time him or her. You can then fax the form to AICC and await the results

How quickly can I get the results and how do I use the results?
You usually can get results within two business days, sometimes faster. You are provided with a single-page profile of the candidate and final score, as well as a report to guide you in the subject of questions to ask of the applicant during a follow-up interview (if you desire). If the applicant scores above a given suitability score, he or she is a strong candidate to be trained successfully in the job as an operator, when that time should come.

Can I use this for existing employees or for those who might be supervisors some day?
Yes, the same test is used for existing operators, supervisors, sales representatives, customer service personnel and other hiring profiles or job categories. The scores are measured against the appropriate category. Tests for operators, supervisors, sales representatives and customer service representatives are graded at no extra charge Tests for other positions can be scored for an additional charge.
